sheer的讲解

sheer作为形容词，表示绝对的、峻峭的、纯粹的，作副词则表示完全地、陡峭地，sheer为单音节词语，含有双元音字母组合ee，发为【i:】的音，所以这个单词的发音就是【ʃɪə(r)】，sheer表示绝对的、陡峭的；

例如在下面这个句子中，She managed to stop smoking by sheer willpower，她全靠意志力戒了烟，a sheer rock，一个陡峭的山崖，陡峭的山崖是不是很难啊，所以要避开，避开，sheer away from sth，而由于sheer作副词也可以表示完全地，所以它可以用作表示一个程度，Out of sheer boredom I would pick up a book and read on and on，在百无聊赖中，随手抓一本书来读下去完全无聊，也就是百无聊赖，Out of sheer boredom，sheer你学会了吗？
